About Bill’s Transmission Service

Founded in 1959 by Bill Cruse, Bill’s Transmission Service first opened in Detroit. In 1986, Bill opened our current store in Taylor, MI. From our beginning, our mechanics and team have been dedicated to high quality service, expert repairs, and honest, upfront pricing. Our team has over 100 years of combined experience.

Today, our shop is owned and operated by Bill’s son, Jeff Cruse. He started working here after high school in 1988, and in 2005, he took over as owner when his father retired. Jeff is proud to continue the tradition of quality work at a fair price and to manage a team of state certified mechanics. We serve customers from communities across the Downriver Area and Southwest Detroit.

You can count on our shop for a variety of services including complete transmission rebuilds and replacements, differential rebuilds or replacements, transfer case services, and more. We specialize in automatic transmission repairs and have the skills and experience to repair or rebuild any automotive transmission system. We complete all repairs and rebuilds on-site.
